Version 1.2 · Effective 20 August 2026
Say Howzit is a service of Studio SC (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2023/835374/07, VAT number 4670322785, based in Hartbeespoort, North West, South Africa.
Where these terms say “we” or “us”, that’s Studio SC. Where they say “you”, that’s you, the person or business buying a website from us. You can reach us at hello@say-howzit.co.za.
These are the terms you agree to when you buy a Say Howzit website. There’s no separate contract and nothing to sign. By paying your deposit invoice, you accept the version of these terms that was published on the day you paid.
They’re written in plain English on purpose. If anything here isn’t clear, ask us before you pay and we’ll explain it.
A one-page website with five sections: a header, three sections you choose from our list, and a contact section. All the writing done for you, based on what you tell us. Your own .co.za domain. Up to three stock photos sourced and prepared for you. Twelve months of hosting, an SSL certificate, and us looking after it. A design that works properly on phones. We keep tweaking it until you’re happy before it goes live.
That’s the package. Anything else is an add-on, and it’s priced below.
The price for your website is the price shown on say-howzit.co.za on the day we send your deposit invoice, and it’s confirmed on that invoice. Where we’re running a promotion, the promotional price applies. Whatever that figure is, it includes VAT and it covers everything in section 3 for your complete first year. It’s split into three payments, and section 5 explains when each one is due.
R3,650 a year including VAT from your second year. That covers hosting, domain renewal, your SSL certificate, security, backups, updates and answering your questions about your site. It does not cover changes to what’s on your page. Those are in section 10.
Add-ons, all including VAT:
We’ll always tell you before we charge you. You will never get an invoice for something you didn’t agree to.
Your fee is split into three payments. The amount of each one is set out on your invoice, and together they add up to the price in section 4. Nothing else is added along the way.
A deposit to get started. When it reflects, we send you your content brief and register your domain, and your project is properly in the queue.
A second payment one month after your deposit.
A final payment one month after that, due before we put your site live.
Add-ons are invoiced with whichever payment they were agreed before, or separately if you ask for them later.
If your final payment is still unpaid 30 days after approval, we’ll park the finished site and pick it back up when you’re ready. Nothing is lost and nothing is deleted.
Your annual fee is invoiced before your renewal date each year. If it’s still unpaid 30 days after the due date, we may take your site offline until it’s settled. We’ll warn you more than once before that happens, because nobody enjoys that conversation.
Once your deposit reflects, we’ll send you a content brief. It’s a set of questions about your business and it takes most people 30 to 45 minutes.
We need it completed within 14 days. If we haven’t received everything after 30 days, we’ll park your project and pick it up when you’re ready, subject to a R750 re-scheduling fee to get you back into the queue. Your deposit stays valid and nothing is lost.
This isn’t us being difficult. A parked project holds a slot we’ve set aside for you, and the fee covers the cost of fitting you back in.
Most sites are live within two to three weeks of your completed content brief reaching us.
That clock starts when your brief lands, not when we first started chatting. We can’t plan your site while we’re waiting on your photos, so how quickly you work through the brief is the single biggest thing deciding how quickly you’re live.
Those two to three weeks cover us building it, you reviewing it, and us tweaking it until you’re happy. Come back to us quickly at the review stage and it’s closer to one. Take a fortnight to send your changes and it’s longer, which is completely fine. We’re not going anywhere.
We write your copy from what you tell us, and we don’t verify it. If you tell us you’ve been trading for 20 years, we’ll write that you’ve been trading for 20 years.
So everything you give us has to be true, and it has to be yours to give. That covers your photos, your logo, your testimonials and the claims you make about your business. If someone comes after us because you sent us a photo you found on Google or a review that never happened, that’s on you, and you’ll cover what it costs us to deal with it.
Testimonials need the person’s permission. Public Google or Facebook reviews are fine to use. A private WhatsApp message needs a quick ask first. POPIA applies to you too.
We don’t do revision rounds. Before your site goes live, we keep tweaking it until you’re happy, and that doesn’t cost extra. Once you’re live, changes to your content are a separate thing, covered in section 10.
If we made a mistake, that isn’t a revision. We fix our own errors for free, always.
Think of your site as a set of boxes. A content update changes what’s inside them: new words, different photos, updated prices, another testimonial. That’s R450 per update, and you send us everything in one batch.
It doesn’t move the boxes or build new ones. A new section, a different layout, new colours or a reordered page is a different job with its own price, and we’ll quote you before we touch anything.
One content update covers up to ten changes, where a change is one piece of text swapped, one photo replaced, or one item added to a list. Send us more and we’ll tell you upfront whether it’s two updates or whether a small refresh works out cheaper.
Your domain is registered and managed by us on your behalf, and renewed as part of your annual fee. It’s yours to use for as long as you’re with us, and you’ll never have to think about renewals, registrars or DNS.
If you’d rather have it in your own name, you can have it transferred at any time under section 14. Most of our clients would rather we just handled it, which is why we do.
Once you’ve paid in full, the finished website is yours. The design, the copy we wrote for you, all of it.
The tools underneath it, WordPress, Elementor and the plugins we use, belong to the people who made them. They’re licensed, not sold, and that doesn’t change.
We’d like to show your site in our portfolio as an example of our work. If you’d rather we didn’t, just tell us and we won’t.
Stock photos. If we source photos for you, up to three per site, we license them from Adobe Stock on your behalf and transfer that licence to you as part of these terms. You can use them on your website for as long as you like.
What you can’t do is pass them on to someone else, resell them, or make them the thing you’re selling, like printing one on a t-shirt. Those are Adobe’s rules rather than ours, and they’re at stock.adobe.com/license-terms. By accepting these terms you’re agreeing to them too.
Each image is licensed for your site and yours only. If you want one used somewhere else, that needs a fresh licence.
Your site is hosted on WordPress.com. They’re good, but they aren’t us, and we can’t promise you their uptime. If they have an outage we’ll tell you what’s happening, but we can’t fix their servers.
What we do cover: keeping your site online, your SSL current, your plugins updated, your backups running, and answering your questions.
What we don’t cover: changes to your content, anything that breaks because you logged in and edited it yourself, and where you rank on Google.
On search rankings. We build your site so that search engines can read it properly, and we set up the basics. We don’t guarantee any particular position in search results. Where you rank depends on your competition, your industry and how Google’s algorithm works at the time, and none of that is within our control. Nobody can honestly guarantee you a search position, and it’s worth being wary of anyone who says otherwise.
Your site is built on standard WordPress and Elementor, so any WordPress professional can pick it up.
If you’d like to move it, or take the domain into your own name, we’ll transfer the site and the domain to you for a once-off fee of R950, with any outstanding fees settled first. Nothing gets held hostage and nothing gets rebuilt from scratch. Tell us where it’s going and we’ll help it get there.
Tell us. We’ll fix it. That’s the first step and it’s almost always the last one.
If something can’t be fixed, the most we’ll be liable for is what you’ve paid us in the previous twelve months. We’re not liable for indirect losses like lost profits, lost business or enquiries you think you missed. This is a small fixed-price website and the price reflects the risk we can carry.
Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act.
Before we’ve started. Work starts when your completed content brief reaches us and we begin planning your site. Up to that point, if you change your mind, tell us and we’ll refund your deposit in full. No questions, no hard feelings.
Once we’ve started. Your deposit covers the work already done, so we can’t refund it, but we’ll hand over whatever we’ve produced.
Before you pay the balance. If you’ve seen the site and decided not to go ahead, that’s your call. You don’t owe us the balance and the site doesn’t go live.
Your annual renewal. Tell us at least 20 business days before your renewal date and we won’t invoice you. We’ll help you move your site somewhere else under section 14.
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy policy at say-howzit.co.za/privacy.
We’ll improve these as we learn. Every version is numbered and dated, and we keep a copy of each one. The version that applies to you is the one that was live on the day you paid your deposit, so nothing changes underneath you.
If we ever change something that affects an existing client, we’ll tell you directly rather than quietly updating a page.
These terms are governed by South African law. If we disagree about something, let’s talk first. If that doesn’t sort it, we’ll go to mediation before anyone goes near a court. Failing that, the Magistrate’s Court has jurisdiction.
If a court decides one part of these terms doesn’t hold, the rest still stands.
